One of my development computers is such Core 2 Duo MacBook @ 2GHz I bought in Feb 2007. I have Snow and SDK 3.2.6 on it and I wonder if its screen is too small for Xcode 4. Is anyone here running latest Xcode on 1280 x 800?
I often feel cramped with 1440x900 but I find it workable. Then again I am also probably spoiled with my 27" monitor that I'm over sensitive when away from it.

Hey guys. I currently have the 2009 iMac. Since last 2months ago i needed to run a program 24/7 for a big project. i checked istate today and it said that the uptime was 40 days
This is AWESOME!! I can safely say you cannot achieve this with a windows machine:D
so tell me guys...what's your uptime XD

I have Logic 8 Express, but am hoping to upgrade to 9 Studio whilst still at university (lovely discount :D ). On the interface front, I would not buy through the apple store as very expensive. Try somewhere like dolphin music (www.dolphinmusic.co.uk) or Guitar, Amp and Keyboard Centre (www.gak.co.uk). These are both reputable music stores.
Just for comparison - the M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB
Apple Store = 205.95
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TQ919ZM/A?mco=OTE4MzMxNQ
Dolphin Music = 134.99
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/7475-m-audio-fast-track-pro-4-x-4-mobile-usb-audio-midi-interface-with-preamps.html
Gak = 131
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/fast-track/68482
I haven't really used the interfaces myself to give a good opinion. I have an Fast Track USB which is the most basic and cheap available and its been ok. Guess more expense should mean better quality!
Oh and if you meant the midi keyboards then again just shop around and see. I want an M-Audio Oxygen 61 when get the money....

Hi, I am about to buy am iBook g3 on eBay. The seller sates that the unit powers on but spits the cd tray out and has the dreaded blinking question mark. Can I just use my Panther install disks to reformat it? Or could this be more serious. Also, will my iBook clamshell ac adapter work on this? Thanks!

30% power savings sounds good to me. My regular AT&T cell phone is a battery hog and it is almost unreadable when the backlight is off. Having the LED display itself be the light sounds sweet. Imagine how much longer the iPhone battery life would have been with that kind of display, especially given the resolution differences are almost trivial at that size. I'm not sure Apple made the best choice here.

No, Stella. They are a helluva lot more than just javascript. Go look it up and post your findings.
I came to the same conclusion as Stella after reading both of those linked to stories. These sound just like bookmarklets, except you don't have to manually type in the javascript string. What am I missing? And don't tell me to google it -- I already tried.
Technically, modules are somehow similar to bookmarklets, but with more features and more flexibility. This means the modules are written in JavaScript code and they can do everything that can be done with JavaScript. Unlike bookmarklets, where the complete JavaScript code must be squeezed in one single line so that it can be used as a URL with “javascript” scheme, the modules can be nicely formatted, without any line limitation. Modules have a special header section where the module properties are defined. The properties include an icon that is displayed in the Modules panel of iCab Mobile, but also settings which do allow the user to configure the module in the iCab Mobile module settings panel.
That's from iCAB's website. Yes, technically it's third party code, but so is the javascript on any website. I don't really see the distinction. If malicious javascript can do damage through the modules then I don't see why it couldn't do it through the browser as well.

Then I guess something is wrong with my machine, because my old core2duo based system is a lot peppier than this machine. I use Virtual Box on my Windows machine, and I can run multiple instances without breaking a sweat.

My last thread was closed, I wasn't finished with my questions :(.
Please stop what you're doing and read the link I posted in your last thread. If you really want to have an intelligent, informed view on malware, you need to read this:
Mac Virus/Malware Info (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=9400648&postcount=4)
By the way, the article you posted refers to trojans, not viruses, which can easily be avoided with some common sense.

I get off work at 5pm, and the Apple store is approximately an 8min walk from my office. So I will be there no later than 5:10 :D
Do they generally have enough stock for the people waiting in line with OS X releases? This is my first one..

I loved my MBA 13 Ultimate so much, we decided to go and get my girlfriend one.. I got this one at the local apple store..
When I bought my MBA, I ordered AppleCare separately, a few weeks later.. for hers, I got it at the Apple Store.. noticed today when I went to register hers for AC, there was no serial # in the box, etc.. I assume that registration happened automatically when we bought it.. since we bought them together from apple.
Does this sound right?
thanks.

HTC 16 Megapixel handset incoming? (http://www.t3.com/news/htc-16-megapixel-windows-phone-7-handset-incoming?=55525)
Hopefully they wont ruin it by putting cheap, knock-off lenses in.
Well one thing that was discovered later after a lot of the reviews was people were not remove the little plastic film over them. They assumed incorrectly that because there was a cut or for it that it was not on there. After you remove the the plastic film it worked great. (film is a lot like the plastic one on the iPhone when you first get it)

I've never found the server healthy enough to watch until 48 hours later anyway. Pity they only put the MW'07 onto the ITS. Perhaps they'll do it with the '08 - so it can download in full and the be watched.

I hope it will be the hi-res version....ya think?

FYI, unless you're planning on doing heavy-duty gaming (Halo, Quake 4, Doom 3 or the like), I'd stick to a passively-cooled graphics card; the fan noise will be pretty obnoxious, especially if you get an ATI 9800.
Also, think carefully about using that machine as a daily computer--they idleat well over 100W; leaving one of those on regularly will noticeably increase your power bill (unless you have free utilities :) ) Be aware that things like Netflix streamiing will never work on a PowerPC Mac.
With all that said, I'm glad you're enjoying your "new" toy! I loved my dual G5, and if it were still practical to have it, I would

No, not a bit of it.
