If I were going to spend over a year in a country which required a visa to visit (such as Nigeria), in order to study the local culture, which kind of visa would I need to obtain before hand? Business, work, study, visitor, etc?

I applied for a green card via a relative application on April 28th of 2001. I am under the 245I law. It has been 10 years since the application and it has been approved. A lawyer told me I have one more year to wait since they are still working on the visas from April of 2001. My question is: What month are they on currently and is there any way I can speed up this process? Is there a website where I can keep track of where the visas are?

My details:
India/EB3/PD:Sep2003/I140 Approved.
I485/EAD/AP: Recevied July 28
I completed FP appointment last week (Wednesday), but LUD has not changed since then.
Also EAD status changed twice (before undergoing FP) it said Card Production Ordered. Today it changed to Approval Notice sent.
Questions:
1. Is there any relation between FP and EAD ? (e.g. Prints appear on EAD etc)
2. Is that the right sequence in change of status:
"Card Production Ordered" followed by "Approval Notice Sent".

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.
Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?

Skin test and X-ray have nothing to do with a USCIS Physician's reputation buth rather on the outcome of the physical exam. However what is important is the amount the Physician is charging for the medical examination. I have an appointment with Dr Alfred in St Louis next week at Forest Park Medical clinic. Appointments are very hard to get by in St Louis.

Hello Friends,
Now the Fence bill has come and gone, none of our amendments are included in, all by now may have realized we need to keep it up for few more months before we see something happen.
And all those waiting for something to happen may also have realized that they need to contribute $, and I believe they did. (I did.)
I sincerely believe that IV members need also have to do one more SIMPLE ACT. Please spread the word about IV.
I have seen N number of times IV core members & many others, requesting to post the banner of IV in the grocery store you visit to help admit more members.
If you have not done it, please do so. I did it.
Simple things like this will help IV membership grow bigger and better chances of getting something done.

I applied for H1 on Oct 10 2010. I got an RFE - (relatively benign - proof of labor cert filing) on Feb 22. My attorney responded and they changed the status to RFE Response Review on March 3rd. Unfortunately, I'm planning to go to India on the 26th.
- Would upgrading to Premium help at this time?
- What is the typical response time between RFE response review and decision?
btw, this application was processed in the Vermont Service Center.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My company got a NOF from PBEC asking on why they filed labor from State-A when the company HQ is in State B. Company has a branch office in State-A. Did any one of you get these kind of NOF, if so how did you answer the NOF. Help is really appreicated.
