If you see the link I submitted earlier today, it is a reality that most voters are fed up with their representatives. From what I hear all the time, it seems the tendency is that people will vote against incumbents, regardless of which part they represent. Typically whoever is coming fresh - Dems or GOP - would be more sensitive to citizens problem and would think twice before voting for something in spite of thousands of pledges and calls against it. In my view, not necessarily Democrats would control the House, but even if turns out that is the case, it may not help us a lot. The truth is that if many incumbents get kicked out, that would be a powerful message that voters out there are not happy with directions they are taking, mainly on immigration, and therefore a bill on our behalf may continue to be dragged down further, because I strongly believe that many fresh reps would think twice to vote when phones are ringing non stop.
I am sorry if that is sad, but that is the truth.
I would like to discuss two issues
1) Is there a reasonable chance for Democrats to take control of the House after Nov elections.
2) What would that mean for skilled legal Immigrant community (aka will my GC come faster :))
It looks like Americans are fed up with the war in Iraq and other issues. Especially here in TX there is one seat definitely going to Democrats ( Tom Delay's seat). Would a Democrat majority make passing SKIL a slam dunk ?

Sorry if you find it offensive, but I dont think its going to prove anything to the USCIS and I am not even sure they will notice it.
Why is no one talking about a public demonstartion in New York or something along those lines that is bound to get TV reporters attention and having a spokesperson who can speak on our behalf in front of a national audience and talk about the discrimintaion that US shows against legal workers
If Illegal Immigrants have the courage to pursue their agenda on the streets what is stopping us from doing it.
What are we afraid of? its not the lack of issues, its the lack of resolve
Lets see if thread swells to dewcent levels we can organize a protest against USCIS infront of NBC studios

They issued a bulletin in June 2007 (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html) declaring all classes of employment-based visa priority dates current from July 1, 2007 and then pulled the carpet under everyone's feet by issuing a bulletin in July 2007 (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3263.html) which declared all July applications ineligible.

We believe our voices will only be heard when our presence (and importance) is made conspicuous by our absence. So, all those who believe in this are urged to refrain from going to work on Friday July 13, 2007.

You cannot become a Canadian Citizen, just because you are on H1 in the US. The only advantage is you can apply for Permanent Residency from the US, which is much faster than applying from India. Once, you get your Green Card, you still should maintain residency in Canda, before you apply for Citizenship.

Congratulations! I am not sure if the online status is being updated. I got my I-140 approval on 3/5/2009 and still shows as pending online.
Anyways, enjoy your freedom.

Enforcement is increasing and it will get worse. As you may know H1 and H4s are getting a lot of 221(g), GC applications are getting RFEs.
This is a critical time to show that we are valuable to the economy and contribute and create jobs. We have to improve our position, desperately - whether its H1b or Green Card.
THE ONLY WAY IS ADVOCACY.

I am trying to book an appointment for h1b visa stamping at the Chennai Us consulate for Nov 29th but I see no dates available for Nov 2010 for Chennai.
Ony calcutta dates are available.
Can I book an emergency appointment in this situation?
I have been on h1 for the past 3 years.First came to US in 2004.Visa expired in 2006.
Extended h1b here in USA..Now going to India for the first time after visa expiry.
Also, for the stamping, should i carry all old LCA's or just the latest one?

I have a Nikon D70s and always get the 3 dust particles showing up on every photo I take. I've tried to clean the inside of the camera as much as possible, but I can't get rid of the dust. Is there a way I can clean the sensor or do I have to send it to Nikon? I have a photo shoot this weekend and would like to have it cleaned by then if possible.

It appears that the processing time is about 90 days, so I might not be able to leave in Feb afterall. But at least I will have my Travel document ready for any future travel plans.

Also, it is different to hear from cust rep and then get the actual experience in front of the check-in staff. Hence I was asking recent experiences here.
Please don't get me wrong, but traveling with 2 toddlers, the last thing I want is baggage hassle.
That is the first thing I did and the cust rep said it is 1 bag, moreover, she said talk to your travel agent.
Also, it is different to hear from cust rep and then get the actual experience in front of the check-in staff. Hence I was asking recent experiences here.
Please don't get me wrong, but traveling with 2 toddlers, the last thing I want is baggage hassle.

i would recommend --
its worth going to a tax filing rep ( HR block or any local re closer to you ) who'll get your job done easy. bec this involves not only adding your spouse to your tax records for the first time to get rebates etc. they will also help fill required forms / pappers to apply a new ITIN for your spouse, which is supposed to go to a diff address for requesting ITIN and once after an ITIN is assigned, it gets forwarded to the right place where it should be filed etc.
Having copies of all forms this time, may be it will be easier for you next time to do it yourself. my 2 c. good luck

Received H1b approval last week. I got it approved for only 1 year though. I sent all the originals along with self addressed fedex postage paid envelope . USCIS safely posted back using the same envelope. I also sent them transcripts attested by registar in sealed envelope. Thanks for all the forum members who answered my queries.
